Everything you need to know about Liposuction

Overview

Obesity is a complex disease that usually results from taking in more calories than are burned by exercise and normal daily activities. Excess fat can also lead to many dangerous diseases and also affect one’s confidence.

Sometimes exercise or diet changes may not help to get rid of fat. In that case, experts consider liposuction as the best procedure to get rid of the fat.

What is Liposuction:

A procedure that removes extra fat from specific areas of the body, such as the belly, hips, legs, buttocks, arms, or neck. People get liposuction to change the shape of their bodies.

Types of Liposuction Procedures:

Tumescent liposuction The surgeon injects a fluid solution a mixture of saltwater, which aids fat removal. The surgeon then makes small cuts into your skin and inserts a cannula under your skin. The fat is sucked out, through small suction tubes.

Ultrasound-assisted liposuction: the surgeon inserts a cannula. The ultrasound vibrations broke the walls of the fat cells. After that, cells can be vacuumed out.

Laser-assisted liposuction the surgeon inserts a laser through a small cut in the skin to deliver laser energy and emulsifies fat deposits. The fat is then removed via a cannula.

After the Surgery

Expect some pain, swelling, and hurting after the surgery. Your surgeon may prescribe medicine to help manage the pain and antibiotics to overcome the risk of infection.
