How to prevent life-threatening stroke?

What is a stroke?

A stroke is often life-threatening that happens when there is a stop in blood supply to part of the brain. Since it is a life-threatening medical condition, immediate treatment is required. The earlier a person gets the treatment, the less damage one will face.

Types of Strokes

There are three major types of stroke,

  1. Ischemic stroke

  2. Hemorrhagic stroke

  3. Transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke)

  • An Ischemic stroke happens when the blood clots through blockages.

  • A Hemorrhagic stroke happens when the artery leaks blood.

  • A Transient ischemic attack is commonly known as a mini-stroke and occurs when the blood flow is blocked. It remains for a short time (usually not more than 5 minutes)

Symptoms of a stroke

  • The person may not be able to lift arms and feels numbness

  • The speech may be slurred or unclear
