Neck pain becomes common among people who spend more time in front of a computer, laptop, television, and mobile. It would be an arduous job to decrease screen time because those gadgets have intertwined with our life. But, there are few other possibilities to curb neck pain.
5 Simple Exercises to Reduce Neck Pain
- Side Tilt
Stand straight, stretch your hands diagonally and tilt your head right and left to stretch the muscles as much you can. Don’t tilt your shoulders. Do this twice a day for about 2-3 minutes.
- Side Rotation
You can either sit or stand to do this exercise. Keep your back straight. Gently turn your head to the right side and hold the pose for 10-15 seconds. Then do the same to the left side. Do this exercise for 2 minutes every day.
- Chin tucks
Sit straight and place a finger on your chin. Push your chin and head back until you feel the stretch. Hold the pose for 5 seconds and do it forward again by pulling the chin and the head. Repeat it 5-10 times every day.
- Shoulder squeezes
Stand straight and raise your arms to the shoulders height. Then move your arms back to squeeze the shoulder blades. Hold in this position for about 5-10 seconds and come to the starting position. Do this exercise for 5 minutes every day.
- Shoulder Shrugs
Stand straight, inhale while you raise your shoulders and squeeze your upper back and exhale when you relax your shoulders. Do this 5-10 minutes a day.
